Radiation Safety Training

Suntrac Services offers several radiological training courses to support your various needs. Courses listed below are recognized by the Texas Department of State Health Services - Bureau of Radiation Control. Certificates are presented to all students obtaining a passing test grade of 70%. You can find the dates for each course below. Print this Registration Form and send it in to sign up.

INDUSTRIAL RADIATION SAFETY OFFICER COURSE
COURSE NO. 58.02

For the year 2013 courses will be held:

February 6 & 7
June 5 & 6
September 11 & 12
November 6 & 7

Class Starts at 8:00 am.

This course is specifically designed to provide Radiation Safety Officer training for individuals and organizations with specific Radioactive Material Licenses or X-Ray Registrations for fixed gauges, moisture/density gauge, spinning gauge operators, and X-Ray fluorescence type devices. We recommend this course be taken by the person designated as the "Responsible Person" in a "General License Acknowledgment" application.
16 hour course held at Suntrac Facility / $750.00 per student. Class size 5 student minimum / 12 maximum.

NATURALLY OCCURRING RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL (NORM) SURVEYOR
COURSE NO. 38.01

A class will be held May 15^th, 2013

This course is offered by request only. It is typically held at your facility, but special arrangements can be made to have it at our location with a minimum of 5 attendees.

This course is designed to provide surveyor training for individuals performing "NORM" surveys. Topics include: why survey, types of surveys, types of equipment surveyed, and techniques in the operation, use, and handling of various radiation survey instruments. This course will also assist in meeting the requirements of TRCR Part - 46 as applicable.
8 hour course held at Suntrac Facility / $500.00 per student, call for pricing and availability for any off-site course requests.

RSO REFRESHER COURSE

Suntrac’s RSO Refresher Course is designed for current RSO’s that want to brush up on their radiation safety training. The course provides a brief review of radiation safety, as well as discussion of new regulatory requirements—the main focus of the course material covered relates to tasks an RSO performs when dealing with radioactive material or X-Ray machines on a day to day basis. This is a one day refresher course held at Suntrac Facility / $500.00 per student, call for pricing and availability for any off-site course requests.

RADIATION SAFETY TRAINING COURSE for GAUGE USERS
COURSE NO. 68.01

This course is offered by request only. It is typically held at your facility, but special arrangements can be made to have it at our location with a minimum of 5 attendees.

This course is specifically designed to provide adequate training to enable fixed gauge operators to meet the requirements of Texas Regulations for Control of Radiation. This would include the operation of liquid flow, level devices, the use of alloy analyzers, sulfur analyzers, and X-Ray fluorescence equipment, etc.
